Jökulsárlón
Jökulsárlón
When aurora photographers think of the quintessential Iceland aurora shot, it’s usually the northern lights reflected in the famous glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón. This iconic landscape is a day’s drive from Reykjavik, so it doesn’t get many daytrippers, but it’s definitely not a remote gem. Among aurora shooters, the lagoon and its ice-covered beaches are probably the most coveted place in Iceland. I’ve made a dozen trips to Jökulsárlón, yet I still haven’t tired of it.
