Volcanic beach, Iceland

Aurora viewing from Reykjavik can be frustrating due to urban sprawl and frequent clouds, so we always push on out of the city. It’s a small country packed with incredibly diverse landscapes and volcanic features. The weather can be gnarly, but when it all comes together Iceland is hard to beat. Iceland is a tourism marketing machine, and in recent years it’s felt a bit less special as tourists flock there. But in winter it’s easy to get off the beaten track and find unique compositions.
